Connect Qashio to Xero

Help your finance team sync suppliers and your chart of accounts from Xero into Qashio. This connection is initiated by your Qashio Customer Success Manager (CSM) and must be completed by a Xero Admin.


Who can complete this?

  • Required: Xero Admin user for the organisation you want to connect.

  • If you’re not an admin in Xero, forward the invite email to your Xero Admin so they can finish the connection.

⚠️ If a non‑admin starts the flow, the connection may remain incomplete until a Xero Admin authorizes access.


What Qashio will access

During the connection you’ll be asked to authorize read access to:

  • Suppliers

  • Chart of Accounts

  • Tax Rates

  • Tracking Categories

You can disconnect access at any time from Xero’s Connected apps.


Step‑by‑step: Connect Xero

1) Open the invite email

Your CSM will trigger an email titled “[ACTION REQUIRED] Connect your accounting platform to Qashio.” Click the blue link to start.


2) Choose your accounting software

On the Share your financial information screen, select Xero from the list.


3) Review the access request

You’ll see a summary of the information Qashio will read. Click Next.


4) Sign in to Xero and authorize

Log in as a Xero Admin, choose the correct Xero organisation, and click Allow access to authorize the connection.


5) Confirm your company

You’ll be returned to Qashio to confirm the company name you’ve connected. Click Confirm.


6) Finish – Connection successful

You’ll see Connection Successful and Accounting – 1 connected. Click Next to finish.

⏱ Your first sync may take a short while to complete. You can continue using Qashio while data finishes syncing in the background.


Verify or disconnect later

  • Verify: In Xero, go to Settings → Connected apps and confirm Qashio appears for the correct organisation.

  • Disconnect: From the same Connected apps page in Xero, select the Qashio app and disconnect. You can reconnect at any time by asking your CSM to resend the invite.


Troubleshooting

  • I can’t authorize—Xero says I don’t have permission.

    You’re likely not a Xero Admin. Please forward the email to your Xero Admin or ask them to complete the steps above.

  • I connected the wrong Xero organisation.

    Disconnect Qashio from Xero’s Connected apps, then ask your CSM to resend the invite and repeat the steps with the correct organisation.

  • The link expired or I closed the window mid‑way.

    Ask your CSM to resend the connection email and complete the flow in one go.

  • The status in Qashio says “incomplete.”

    This usually occurs when the Xero authorization wasn’t finished. Start again from the invite email using a Xero Admin account and ensure you click Allow access and Confirm.
